Katerina Gancheva

Katerina completed her first music studies in Varna, Bulgaria.

Arriving in Switzerland, she studied at the Conservatory of La-Chaux-de-Fonds in the class of François Abeille and won the "Robert Faller" prize. She continued her studies at the Lausanne Conservatory in the class of Patrick Demenga and graduated with distinction. In 2009 she graduated as a soloist at the Lucerne Conservatory in the class of Marek Jerie. In 2003, she received second prize at the European Music Competition in Lausanne, then won first prize at the Grand Competition of the "Pierre d'Or" in Neuchâtel. On the other hand, from 2000 she participated in tours with the "Verbier Festival Orchestra" and in 2005 she participated in the "Lucerne Festival Academy". Since 2005, she has played in the "Sinfonietta" orchestra in Lausanne. In 2007, she completed an internship with the Biel/Bienne Symphony Orchestra.

 

She regularly performs in different chamber music groupes and teaches cello according to the Suzuki method at CLEM, Lutry
